A five-day visit to Yorkshire, travelling by luxury coach and staying at the 4* York Marriott Hotel, which overlooks the racecourse.
Excursions include Harrogate, where you might choose to visit Betty’s, the renowned Yorkshire tea-rooms, Castle Howard, the stately home used for “Brideshead Revisited”, Whitby’s pretty harbour, where a bag of fish-and-chips, whilst sitting on the seawall, is a must ! If timings permit, a jaunt on the North Yorkshire Moors Steam train at Pickering.
York, with time to visit the Jorvik Viking Centre, National Railway Museum, delightful “Shambles” shopping street and the imposing Minster with its beautiful stained-glass windows and astronomical clock, plus a guided tour.
