Walks - London Discovery Walks

Group details

These are occasional walks around interesting pockets of London, conducted by Tom Brazil, a former senior Police Officer and a registered Blue Badge guide with his own quirky take on the characters and buildings of each area. No charge. Limited to max 10-12 members on each walk. Popular walks are often repeated. Walks are entirely at the whim of the group leader who is spurred on by the expressed interest of group members.

All members who register to be on the group receive details of planned walks and are asked to email to reserve a place and to receive details of where and when to meet. Please note that the group is large – over 70; however, only around 20-30 people tend to apply for a walking place.

As you can imagine, there is competition for places; so, as it’s first-come first-served, you have to be quick off the mark to get a place!  A careful record of all applications is kept and and a waiting list maintained for all over-subscribed walks, as there are sometimes late cancellations.

The following are just some of Tom’s walks in the past few of years:

  • Soho
  • Little Venice
  • Thames Police Museum
  • Hampstead
  • Clerkenwell
  • Finsbury
  • St James
  • Vauxhall
  • Mayfair
  • Park Lane
  • Barnsbury
  • Baker Street
  • St Pauls
  • Victoria
  • Charing Cross

Administration and contact maintenance for this group are both carried out by Richard Driscoll– rdmhu3a@outlook.com.
