Group details

During Lockdown, and subsequently, we have issued fortnightly “Virtual Outings Trips” to all MHU3A members who have email.  We hope you have enjoyed these and that they have helped to fill the gap whilst real Outings were not possible? We are now starting to re-book the 2019 / 2020 cancelled Outings.

Members who queued and booked a place in 2019/20 will automatically be given priority when these Outings become available again. If there are tickets remaining, these will be offered to the general membership based on the new booking rules below.

We look forward to seeing you all again in 2022 for some enjoyable excursions which will hopefully include RHS Wisley, Wimbledon “Behind the Scenes”, Vintners Hall, The Henry Moore Foundation, Waddesdon Manor, Blenheim Palace, Greenwich and the Painted Hall, Brighton, The Wallace Collection and The Goldsmiths’ Hall.

We hold around 10 Outings a year during which we visit a wide range of interesting, unusual, famous and lesser-known locations around London and the Home Counties. Many are within London and are accessible by public transport, but for those venues further afield, we travel by coach. We will expect members to be vaccinated and to wear masks (subject to changes in the Covid situation)

Details of current and future Outings are publicised in the Flyers, which can be seen below.

PLEASE NOTESome Outings involve more walking, stairs or uneven ground, so please read the Flyer thoroughly to check whether the venue will be suitable for you.

From 2022 onwards bookings will be taken by email, chronologically in order of receipt, not by queueing as we used to do in Hartley Hall. The new email address for booking is:

The Opening Date and Time for booking will be clearly displayed on each Outings’ Flyer. Please note that NO applications will be accepted before the advertised time.

Your Payment

“Joining Instructions”

Joining Instructions (J.I’s for short) will be emailed to you 7 -10 days before each Outing, with details of the meeting place, guidelines from the venue, duration, and sometimes with public transport suggestions or maps.

The Outings Team Volunteers

We have eight wonderful volunteers, Liz Allden, Antoinette Azzopardi, Liz Driscoll, Sheila Gottsche, Jennifer Morris, Carol Price, Simeone Salik and Stuart Trogal, who research, select, liaise-with & book the venues and coaches, and take your bookings. Please feel free to express your appreciation for them if you enjoy the Outings.
