London Trail Walks
The object of the group is to walk recognised long distance trails in and around London in monthly stages of around 8 – 15 miles per day. Walking is at a moderate pace. We usually get to our start point at around 10 am and start for home by around 4 pm. Start and finish points can be as much as an hour & a half away. We stop along our route to eat a packed lunch, and shortly afterwards try to find a congenial pub for a drink before walking on.
So far we have completed the London Loop (150 miles plus links to stations), the Capital Ring (78 miles plus links), and are currently working our way along the 180 miles of the Thames Path.
Although the group leader will take all reasonable precautions and attempt to foresee likely risks, members of the group must be adequately fit, equipped with suitable clothing and footwear, and take responsibility for looking after their own safety on these walks, costs of refreshments and travel to and from the walks.
